Christmas 2010

We spent Christmas Eve at home with Grandma, Aunt Kim, and Aunt Jenny. We ate a ham dinner and then opened some gifts. Poor Owen was fighting a cold/fever, so he was in bed early but managed to have some adorable 1 year old Christmas moments. He loved the wrapping paper and crawling around finding all sorts of treasures on the floor. Abbey was hysterical this year-she absolutely loved each and every gift and was quite thankful.

This was the best family picture we could get.....

I just LOVE those chubby baby legs :)

Grandma gave the kids some adorable gifts. Here is Abbey with a cake:

Grandma gave the kids a Frosty the Snowman book with a recording of her reading the story. Here is Abbey listening to it:

Kim and Jenny got the kids some fun things-one of them was a freeze dance game that of course we had to try out immediately! Please excuse my dance moves...

Christmas morning, Abbey woke up about 6:15 and whispered to me that Santa had left presents. She ran to the plate of cookies we left for Santa and announced that he ate them, but didn't really like the chocolate chip ones because he left one half eaten!

I'm so sad this picture is blurry. This is Abbey opening her pillow pet-the only thing she asked Santa for and was just thrilled to get it.

Here is Abbey showing Owen the recorded story from Grandma:

After a nap, Abbey and I headed to my Grandma's house to spend time with my dad's side of the family. Mark stayed home with Owen as he was still not feeling the best. We had a nice time. Abbey opened a huge stuffed animal from Grandpa and then a note from Great-Grandma sending her to the garage to find her new bike.

Abbey has a blog!

After some pressure (you know who you are!) Mark and Beth have created a blog for Abbey. It's hard to believe that she is almost 13 months old by now and how fast this last year has gone. Abbey is taking many steps at a time these days along with her crawling. Her words include da-da, uh-oh, hi, hi charlie, and possibly thank you....notice that ma-ma isn't included in her list yet! I don't take it personally-I get all of the hugs and kisses a mommy could ask for from this sweet baby. Being a teacher is awesome because I'm able to get a taste of being a stay at home mom in the summer. Abbey loves to play with her toys and dog Charlie, tear things apart, pull on the toilet paper roll, climb anything she can get her little hands and feet on, push her shopping cart, go into the pantry, among other fun games:) We adore her and will try to add to this blog weekly to share her with you!
